Rear Outer Seat Belt Assembly - the outer restraint serving the forward-facing second-row seat, within the rear seat belt system.

This is the long-end assembly: the belt webbing and its anchorage, mounting at the outer second-row seating position. It restrains the occupant by transmitting load through the webbing to the body-mounted anchorage points. The mating buckle stalk is supplied separately and is not included.

It serves the forward-facing second-row seat configuration and does not fit crew cab bodies.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BTR5779 seat belt assembly used for?
The BTR5779 is the rear outer static seat belt for the forward-facing second-row seat on the Defender 110 and 130. It restrains the occupant by transmitting load through the webbing to the body-mounted anchorage. The mating buckle stalk is a separate part.
What does 'static' mean on this seat belt?
Static means the belt is a fixed-length belt without an inertia reel. You adjust the length by hand and it doesn't retract automatically. It's the correct type for the original static-belt second-row layout, not an inertia-reel replacement.
Which Defenders does this rear belt fit?
This rear outer belt fits the Land Rover Defender 110 and 130 from 1987 to 2006 in the forward-facing second-row seating position. It does not fit crew cab bodies. Use your VIN to confirm your seating configuration before ordering.
Should a seat belt be replaced after an accident?
Seat belts that have been loaded in a collision should typically be replaced, even if they look intact, because the webbing and mechanism can be permanently weakened. Fitting a known-good belt restores the designed restraint at the second-row outer position.
