What is the RTC1963 Tab Washer used for?

The RTC1963 primary pinion tab washer is a locking washer fitted beneath the primary pinion retaining nut in the Series gearbox. Once the nut is tightened, one tab is bent against a flat of the nut to lock it and stop it loosening in service.

Can the tab washer be reused?

No, tab washers are single-use. Once a tab has been bent against the nut and then flattened to remove it, the metal is fatigued and won't lock reliably again. Fit a new RTC1963 every time the primary pinion nut is disturbed on a Series gearbox.
