Koppelingsplaat is het drukplaatassemblage van de handmatige transmissiekoppeling, voor V8-benzinetoepassingen.

Deze wordt aan het vliegwiel van de motor geschroefd en klemt de aangedreven koppelingsplaat tegen het vliegwielvlak. De diafragmaspring levert de klemkracht die de aandrijving via de plaat overbrengt, en heft die kracht op wanneer het druklager tegen de veervinger wordt geduwd om de koppeling te ontkoppelen.

The clutch cover is the pressure plate assembly of the manual clutch, for V8 petrol engines. It bolts to the flywheel and clamps the driven plate against the flywheel face. Its diaphragm spring supplies the clamping load and releases it when the bearing pushes the spring fingers to disengage drive.

When should the clutch cover be replaced?

Replace the clutch cover whenever the clutch is overhauled, since the diaphragm spring and pressure plate wear alongside the friction plate. Typical signs are clutch slip under load, juddering on take-up, or a heavy or weakening pedal. It's normally renewed as a set with the driven plate and bearing.
