Ontluchtingsslang maakt deel uit van het carterventilatiesysteem van de 3,5L V8 benzinemotor met dubbele carburateur.

Het leidt ontluchtingsgassen via het ventilatiecircuit langs het ontluchtingsfilter en de vlamvanger, waarbij oliedampen worden teruggevoerd naar de inlaat terwijl het carter correct geventileerd blijft. De gegoten rubberen slang wordt hard, barst en vergaat door ouderdom en hitte onder de motorkap en wordt vervangen om het ontluchtingssysteem afgedicht te houden.

What is the Breather Hose and what does it do?

The Breather Hose is part of the crankcase ventilation system on the 3.5L V8 twin-carburettor petrol engine. It routes breather gases through the ventilation circuit alongside the breather filter and flame trap, returning oil vapour to the induction side while keeping the crankcase vented. Fitted to the Defender and Range Rover Classic.

Why does the breather hose need replacing?

The moulded rubber hose hardens, cracks and perishes with age and under-bonnet heat. Once it splits the breather circuit leaks, causing oil mist and unmetered air. It's usually renewed as soon as it perishes to keep the breather system sealed on the twin-carb V8.

How do I confirm this breather hose fits my vehicle?

This breather hose fits the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Classic with the 3.5L V8 twin-carburettor petrol engine. On the Range Rover Classic it applies up to VIN HA610293. Confirm your engine is the twin-carb V8 rather than the EFI version before ordering.
