This is a replacement piston for the Land Rover 2.25 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, supplied at +0.020 inch oversize. The oversize piston suits a cylinder bore that's been machined out during an engine rebuild to clean up wear or damage in the bore.
Which 2.25 petrol engines does this piston fit?
This piston suits the three-bearing engines (prefix 901 and 904), all Suffix-A five-bearing engines (prefix 361), and the 8:1 compression five-bearing engines from suffix B onwards. It does not fit the 7:1 low-compression five-bearing engine (prefix 364), which takes a different piston.
What does +0.020 inch oversize mean when ordering pistons?
