The RTC8163 free wheeling hub kit replaces the standard front driving flanges with manually locking hubs on a 24 spline front axle. Set to free, the front axle shafts, differential and propshaft stop turning when four wheel drive isn't in use. Set to lock, drive returns to the wheel.

Which Land Rovers does this 24 spline hub kit fit?

This kit fits Land Rover Series models with a 24 spline front axle, factory fitment from Series III in 1980 onward, and it can be retrofitted to earlier Series IIA vehicles. Count the splines on your front axle shaft before ordering, as 10 and 24 spline axles both exist.

How many hubs come in the kit?

The kit is supplied as a pair, one hub per front wheel. Both hubs must be set to the same position before four wheel drive is selected, otherwise drive goes to one front wheel only and the axle is loaded unevenly.
