Speedometer Pinion Oil Seal for the gearbox speedometer drive take-off. It seals around the speedometer drive pinion where it enters the gearbox housing, retaining gearbox oil and preventing leakage where the drive cable connects.

Fitted at the speedometer pinion bore of the LT76 four-speed gearbox, it keeps the speedometer drive assembly oil-tight.

Frequently asked questions

What does the 211502 Speedometer Pinion Oil Seal do?
This seal sits around the speedometer drive pinion where it enters the LT76 gearbox housing, retaining gearbox oil and preventing leakage at the speedometer drive take-off point.
How do I know when the speedometer pinion seal needs replacing?
Oil seeping around the speedometer cable entry point on the gearbox is the key sign, typically accompanied by a falling gearbox oil level. The seal typically fails from age and hardening rather than excessive load.
Which Land Rovers use the LT76 gearbox fitted with this seal?
The LT76 four-speed gearbox was fitted to Land Rover Series 1 and Series II, IIA and III. The alternative code BR 0499 references the same speedometer pinion oil seal.
