Rocker Cover Gasket (Top) - seals the rocker cover joint on the 2.6L 6-cylinder petrol engine.

Fitted between the rocker cover and the cylinder head, the gasket contains engine oil within the valvetrain and prevents leakage at the cover joint. This is the top gasket of the rocker cover sealing arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Rocker Cover Gasket Top 2.6L used for?
The Rocker Cover Gasket Top seals the rocker cover joint on the 2.6L 6 cylinder petrol engine. It fits between the rocker cover and the cylinder head to contain engine oil within the valvetrain. This is the top gasket of the rocker cover sealing arrangement, used on Land Rover Series 2, 2A and 3.
What are the signs this rocker cover gasket needs replacing?
A failing rocker cover gasket usually shows as oil weeping or seeping around the rocker cover joint on the 2.6L 6 cylinder engine. The gasket hardens and shrinks with age and heat, so it loses its seal. Replace it once you see oil traces at the cover joint.
Is this the only gasket needed to seal the rocker cover?
This is the top gasket of the 2.6L rocker cover sealing arrangement, so it is one part of the joint rather than the whole set. Confirm whether your engine also needs the matching lower section before ordering, so the rocker cover seals fully along its joint.
