Steering Relay Gasket seals the steering relay assembly within the steering linkage.

The steering relay transfers movement from the steering box drop arm to the drag link and is oil-filled for lubrication. This gasket seals the relay's end joint to retain the lubricating oil and prevent leaks. It is normally renewed together with the relay oil seal whenever the relay's lower end is disturbed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the steering relay gasket do?
The steering relay gasket seals the steering relay's end joint to retain its lubricating oil. The steering relay is oil-filled and transfers movement from the steering box drop arm to the drag link, so the gasket stops oil leaking from the relay within the steering linkage.
Which Land Rovers use the steering relay gasket?
The steering relay gasket fits the Series 1, Series 2 and 3, and Defender, which all use the oil-filled steering relay in the steering linkage. Confirm your vehicle has the steering relay setup before ordering.
When should the steering relay gasket be replaced?
Replace the steering relay gasket whenever the relay's lower end is disturbed, and renew it together with the relay oil seal. A perished or leaking gasket lets the relay lose its lubricating oil, so a fresh one keeps the steering relay sealed and oil-filled.
