Frequently asked questions

What is the AMR5425G alternator used for?
The AMR5425G is a Hella A127-type 100A alternator for the 2.5-litre 300 Tdi engine's charging circuit on the Land Rover Discovery 1. Belt-driven from the crankshaft pulley, it supplies charging current to the battery and the vehicle's electrical system.
Which drive belt does the AMR5425G small-pulley alternator use?
The AMR5425G carries the smaller pulley and runs the shorter matching drive belt, part ERR5911. The 300 Tdi was built with two pulley sizes, so confirm your pulley size and belt length before fitting. A mismatched pulley will throw the belt alignment out.
Which vehicles does the AMR5425G alternator fit?
The AMR5425G fits the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1994-1998) with the 2.5-litre 300 Tdi engine, from VIN MA081992. It's the small-pulley 100A A127 unit, so check your chassis number against that VIN break and confirm your existing pulley size before ordering.
