Crankshaft - 2.5L Diesel & Petrol is the forged steel crankshaft for the Land Rover 2.5L 4-cylinder engine family, converting the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotational output.
The crankshaft runs in five main bearings in the cylinder block and drives the oil pump, timing gears, and (via the flywheel) the clutch and gearbox. It is machined to accept standard-size main and big-end bearing shells. This crankshaft is common across the 2.5L naturally aspirated diesel, 2.5L petrol, 2.5L turbo diesel, and 200Tdi variants, making it a suitable replacement during a full engine rebuild on any of these applications.
