Crankshaft Thrust Washer Pair for the 4-cylinder engine, including the 200 TDi and 300 TDi diesels. The thrust washers sit either side of the centre main bearing and control crankshaft end-float, limiting the fore-and-aft movement of the crankshaft in the block.

Supplied as a pair in standard size, for a crankshaft with unmachined thrust faces. Excessive end-float is renewed with this pair during an engine rebuild or main bearing replacement.

Frequently asked questions

What does the thrust washer pair do?
The thrust washer pair controls crankshaft end-float on the 4-cylinder engines, including the 200TDi and 300TDi diesels. The two washers sit either side of the centre main bearing and limit how far the crankshaft can move fore and aft in the block.
How many thrust washers do I need for the job?
They're supplied and fitted as a pair, one washer each side of the centre main bearing. A single engine needs one pair to control end-float, typically renewed during an engine rebuild or main bearing replacement.
What does standard size mean here?
Standard size suits a crankshaft with unmachined thrust faces. If the crank's thrust faces have been reground, an oversize washer is needed instead, so check the crankshaft's history before ordering this standard pair.
What are the signs the thrust washers need replacing?
Excessive crankshaft end-float is the main sign. Symptoms typically include a knock that changes when the clutch is pressed and noticeable fore-and-aft crank movement. Worn thrust washers left unchecked can damage the crankshaft and block.
