Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.
Timing Cover Gasket for the 2.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel and turbo diesel engines, sealing the front (timing) cover to the cylinder block.

It seals the joint between the front cover and the block, retaining engine oil around the timing gears and preventing leaks at the front of the engine. Renew whenever the timing cover is removed to ensure a reliable oil-tight seal on reassembly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the timing cover gasket for?
The timing cover gasket seals the front timing cover to the cylinder block on the 2.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated and turbo diesel engines, retaining engine oil around the timing gears. It stops oil leaks at the front of the engine where the cover meets the block.
Can the timing cover gasket be reused?
No, the timing cover gasket is single-use. Fit a new one whenever the timing cover is removed, as the old gasket takes a set once compressed and won't reseal reliably. Reusing it typically leads to an oil leak at the front cover soon after reassembly.
How is the Non-TDi timing cover gasket different?
This gasket is for the 2.5L Non-TDi diesels, the naturally aspirated and turbo diesel, not the later 200TDi or 300TDi engines. The front cover design differs between these engines, so match the gasket to your exact engine to avoid a wrong fit.
