Thermostat - 88°C for the cooling system of V8 petrol engines.

The thermostat regulates coolant flow between the engine block and the radiator, allowing the engine to reach operating temperature quickly by blocking coolant circulation through the radiator when cold. Once coolant temperature reaches 88°C, the thermostat opens progressively to allow circulation through the radiator and maintain a stable working temperature. A failed thermostat - whether stuck open or closed - disrupts the thermal management of the engine, causing either overheating or failure to reach correct operating temperature.
