The SKT6040 contains an oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and an oil drain plug with integrated rubber seal, the main consumables for an oil-and-filter service on the Defender Puma TDCi. It covers both the 2.2 and 2.4 TDCi Puma engines fitted to Defenders from 2007 to 2016.

Does the SKT6040 fit all Defender Puma TDCi engines, or are there VIN restrictions?

The SKT6040 covers the 2.2 TDCi Puma without a VIN restriction. The 2.4 TDCi Puma has a ceiling at chassis number (V)DA444246. Defenders with the 2.4 engine above that VIN take a different specification. Check your VIN before ordering if you have a 2.4 TDCi.

Why is a drain plug included in the SKT6040 service kit?

The drain plug has an integrated rubber seal that's typically replaced at every oil change on the Puma TDCi. Reusing a deformed seal risks a slow sump oil leak. Including it in the kit means the sump plug seal is renewed as a matter of course and isn't overlooked.
