Contactpuntenset voor de Lucas 25D-verdeler in het ontstekingssysteem van de 2.25L en 2.6L benzinemotoren.

De contactpuntenset (stroomonderbrekers) opent en sluit naarmate de verdeler nok roteert, waardoor het primaire circuit van de bobine wordt onderbroken om de hoogspanningsvonk op te wekken. De contactpuntafstand is instelbaar en moet bij de montage samen met de dwell worden ingesteld. Een versleten of ingebrande contactpuntenset veroorzaakt een zwakke vonk, overslaan van de motor en moeilijk starten.

What does the 25D contact set do?
The contact set, or breaker points, fits the Lucas 25D distributor on the 2.25 and 2.6 litre petrol engines. As the distributor cam rotates, the points open and close to interrupt the ignition coil's primary circuit and trigger the high-tension spark. The point gap is adjustable.
Which Land Rovers does it fit?
It fits the Land Rover Series 1, 2 and 3 petrol models running the Lucas 25D distributor with the 2.25 or 2.6 litre engine. Check you have the 25D distributor before ordering, as other distributor types take a different contact set.
What's involved in fitting and setting the points?
When fitting the contact set, set the point gap and dwell angle together, then recheck the ignition timing. Worn or pitted points cause weak spark, misfire and hard starting. You'll typically need feeler gauges and ideally a dwell meter.
