Core Plug, 1 7/8" diameter, sealing a casting core hole such as those in the inlet manifold and engine castings.

Core plugs close the openings left by the sand cores used during casting and seal the coolant or air passage behind them. They also serve as a sacrificial point that can push out if trapped coolant freezes, relieving pressure before the casting itself cracks.
