Core Plug for the cylinder head, sealing a core hole left in the casting during manufacture.

It closes the opening left by the casting sand core and seals the coolant gallery within the head. It also serves as a sacrificial point that can push out if trapped coolant freezes, relieving pressure before the head casting cracks.
