Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.
Oil Filler Breather Cap of the top-hat type closes the oil filler on the cylinder head side cover and vents the crankcase.

It combines the oil filler cap with a crankcase breather: as the cap seals the filler neck, its internal gauze allows crankcase pressure to vent while filtering the escaping air. The breather label is supplied loose for application.

Frequently asked questions

What does the oil filler breather cap do?
The oil filler breather cap combines the oil filler cap with a crankcase breather. It seals the filler neck on the cylinder head side cover, while its internal gauze lets crankcase pressure vent and filters the escaping air. The breather label is supplied loose.
Which models does this top-hat breather cap fit?
This top-hat breather cap fits the Land Rover Series I, Series II, IIA and Series III, mounting on the cylinder head side cover oil filler. On Series II and IIA it suits the 2.0L and 2.25 petrol and 2.0L diesel engines.
Why would the oil filler breather cap need replacing?
Replace the breather cap when its internal gauze is clogged with oil mist or the seal has hardened. A blocked breather typically raises crankcase pressure, which can push oil past seals and gaskets and cause leaks.
