Panhard Rod Bush from the front suspension's lateral location linkage.

The Panhard rod controls sideways movement of the axle relative to the body. This bush is fitted into the rod's mounting eye and isolates the joint where the rod attaches to its bracket, absorbing vibration while maintaining axle location. Sized for the M16 mounting bolt.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Panhard rod bush do on a Land Rover?
The Panhard rod bush sits in the mounting eye of the front Panhard rod, the bar that locates the front axle sideways against the body. It cushions the joint where the rod bolts to its bracket, absorbing vibration while keeping the axle located. Fits Defender up to 2016, Discovery 2 and Range Rover P38.
How many Panhard rod bushes are needed for the job?
Typically two bushes are used to refresh a front Panhard rod fully, one pressed into each mounting eye. They wear at a similar rate, so most people replace both ends together rather than one. Check your old rod to confirm how many your repair needs.
What are the signs a Panhard rod bush needs replacing?
Worn front Panhard rod bushes usually show as vague, wandering steering and a knock from the front axle over bumps, as the perished rubber lets the axle move sideways. On Defender, Discovery 2 and Range Rover P38 it's a common handling and MOT fault. Replace once the rubber is cracked or split.
