Anti-Roll Bar Bush for the rear suspension. It locates and insulates the rear anti-roll bar (stabiliser bar) at its mounting to the chassis, allowing the bar to rotate under suspension articulation while damping vibration and noise.

The bush is held by a mounting strap or bracket and supports the torsional action of the anti-roll bar as it transfers load between the two sides of the axle. As a wear item it is commonly replaced in pairs.

Frequently asked questions

What does the EGP1889 anti-roll bar bush do?
The EGP1889 anti-roll bar bush locates and insulates the rear anti-roll bar where it mounts to the chassis on the Defender 90. It lets the bar rotate as the suspension articulates while damping vibration and noise, and supports the bar's torsional action between the two sides of the axle.
How many anti-roll bar bushes are needed?
Anti-roll bar bushes are typically replaced in pairs, one at each side of the rear bar's chassis mounting, so both sides wear and behave evenly. Replacing just one can leave uneven location, so fitting them as a set is the usual approach.
What are the signs the bush needs replacing?
A worn rear anti-roll bar bush typically shows as perished or cracked rubber, knocking or clunking from the rear over bumps, and vaguer handling. As the rubber softens, the bar moves in its mount instead of being held firmly, reducing roll control.
How do I confirm this bush fits my Defender?
This bush is listed for the Defender 90 (1987-2016) rear anti-roll bar. The 2007 to 2016 application runs from VIN 7A000001. Check your build year and VIN against this range before ordering to get the correct rear bush.
