Timing Chain for the Rover V8 petrol engine, part of the camshaft drive assembly located in the front timing cover.

This single-row roller chain transmits rotation from the crankshaft sprocket to the camshaft sprocket, maintaining valve timing for correct engine operation. The chain runs in conjunction with the timing chain tensioner and guide. Stretch or wear in the chain causes timing variation that affects engine performance and starting characteristics, and the chain is typically renewed as part of a timing chain kit service.
