Oil Drain Pipe Gasket for the turbocharger oil return line on the 300TDi 2.5L turbo diesel engine.

It seals the flanged joint where the external oil drain (return) pipe carries lubricating oil from the turbocharger bearing housing back down to the sump, preventing leakage at the low-pressure gravity return. It is renewed whenever the drain pipe or turbocharger is removed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the oil drain pipe gasket for on a 300TDi?
The oil drain pipe gasket seals the flanged joint where the turbocharger oil return pipe carries oil from the turbo bearing housing back to the sump on the 300TDi 2.5 litre diesel. It stops leaks at this low-pressure gravity return.
Should the oil drain pipe gasket be replaced every time?
Yes, renew the oil drain pipe gasket whenever the drain pipe or turbocharger is removed on the 300TDi. It's a single-use seal, so refitting the old one typically causes oil weeps at the joint. Fit a new gasket as standard during any turbo or oil pipe work.
Where does this gasket sit on the 300TDi engine?
This gasket sits at the external oil drain pipe joint on the 300TDi, between the turbocharger drain and the sump return. It's a low-pressure return seal, not a pressurised feed, so a failure usually shows as oil seepage around the pipe flange rather than a spray.
