Clutch Release Fork is the pivoting lever in the clutch release mechanism that acts on the release bearing.

Operated by the clutch slave cylinder pushrod, the fork pivots on its fulcrum inside the bellhousing to drive the release bearing against the diaphragm spring of the clutch cover, disengaging the clutch when the pedal is pressed. For LT77 and R380 manual gearboxes.

Frequently asked questions

What does the clutch fork do?
The clutch fork is the pivoting release lever that acts on the clutch release bearing. Driven by the slave cylinder pushrod, it pivots inside the bellhousing to push the bearing against the diaphragm spring, disengaging the clutch when you press the pedal. For LT77 and R380 manual gearboxes.
Which Land Rovers does this clutch fork fit?
This clutch fork fits the Defender (1987-2006), Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic (1992-1994) with LT77 or R380 manual gearboxes, covering 4-cylinder petrol, 2.5 NA and TDi diesel and V8 applications. Check your gearbox type before ordering.
What are the signs a clutch fork is worn?
A worn clutch fork typically shows up as a heavy or notchy pedal, a clutch that won't fully disengage, or rattle from the bellhousing. The pivot and bearing pads wear over time, so it's worth replacing the fork while the gearbox is out for a clutch job.
