Shock Absorber Bush for the front lower shock absorber mounting within the suspension damper assembly.

The bush fits at the lower eye of the front shock absorber where it attaches to the axle. It insulates the mounting and absorbs the vibration and shock loads passing between the damper and the axle, while allowing the damper to pivot through suspension travel.

Frequently asked questions

What does the front lower shock absorber bush do?
The front lower shock absorber bush fits the lower eye of the front damper where it bolts to the axle on the Discovery 2. It insulates the mounting and absorbs shock loads between the damper and axle, while letting the damper pivot through suspension travel.
How many shock absorber bushes do I need?
Shock absorber bushes are typically replaced in pairs so both front dampers are matched. Check how many your damper mounting uses, as a worn bush on one side usually means the other is close behind on the Discovery 2.
What are the symptoms of a worn shock absorber bush?
A worn front lower shock bush usually knocks or rattles over bumps as the damper moves in its mounting. The rubber perishes and cracks with age, which loosens the lower mount and lets the front damper shift on the Discovery 2.
