The FRC2297R is a 9 1/2 inch (241mm) clutch driven plate, the friction disc clamped between the flywheel and pressure plate. Its splined hub drives the gearbox input shaft, transmitting engine power and allowing smooth take-up through its friction linings on Series II and III models.

Should I replace the clutch plate on its own?

The clutch driven plate is typically replaced as part of a full clutch overhaul, alongside the clutch cover and release bearing, since the gearbox has to come out to reach it. Replacing all three together is usual practice to avoid repeating the job.

What are the signs a clutch plate needs replacing?

Common signs include clutch slip under load, juddering on take-up, or a burning smell from worn friction linings. As the linings wear the plate grips less effectively. On Series II and III vehicles this 9 1/2 inch plate is a normal wear item renewed during clutch service.
