Coolant Expansion Tank with a clear (translucent) body, part of the engine cooling system.
The tank serves as the system's pressurised reservoir and fill point, accommodating the expansion and contraction of coolant as engine temperature changes and allowing entrained air to separate from the coolant. It carries the pressure cap that regulates system pressure. The translucent body allows the coolant level to be checked at a glance, and replaces the earlier metal or plastic tank.
