Spark Plug - ignites the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the petrol engine. It threads into the cylinder head with its electrode gap exposed in the chamber, where the high-tension spark across the gap initiates each power stroke.

Specified for low-compression (7:1) petrol applications, with a heat range matched to the operating temperature of the combustion chamber. Correct gap setting on installation supports reliable starting, a smooth idle and efficient combustion.

RTC3571 (N5C) is a Champion spark plug for low-compression Land Rover petrol engines with a 7:1 compression ratio. It fits the 2.25L four-cylinder in Series 2, 3 and Defender (1987-2006), and also the 2.6L six-cylinder petrol in the Series 3.
How do I know if my engine needs the 7:1 plug and not a different spec?
RTC3571 is specified for the 7:1 compression ratio. Many standard 2.25L Land Rover petrol engines left the factory at 7:1. If your engine has been rebuilt at a higher compression, a different heat range plug is needed. Compression ratio is confirmed by build records or a workshop manual.
How many spark plugs do I need for a complete change?
