Rear brake drum installed in the rear drum brake assembly of the vehicle braking system. The drum mounts to the rear hub and rotates with the wheel, forming the friction surface against which the brake shoes expand during braking.
When hydraulic pressure from the brake master cylinder actuates the wheel cylinder, the brake shoes press outward against the internal drum surface, generating friction to slow wheel rotation. This component operates within the rear drum brake assembly and interfaces directly with the brake shoes, wheel cylinder, and hub mounting flange.
