Frequently asked questions

What is the aluminium hawse fairlead used for?
The hawse fairlead guides the winch rope into the drum and mounts at the front of the winch. This aluminium version is made for use with Dyneema synthetic winch rope, feeding it cleanly onto the drum during a pull.
Can this aluminium hawse fairlead be used with steel wire rope?
No. This aluminium hawse fairlead is designed for synthetic (Dyneema) winch rope only. Steel wire rope needs a roller fairlead, as it would cut into the softer aluminium and damage both the fairlead and the cable.
What is the mounting hole spacing on this fairlead?
The mounting hole spacing is 255 mm, with a rope aperture 205 mm wide. Check these against your winch or bumper mount before ordering to confirm the bolt pattern lines up.
