Banjo Bolt (6mm) for the fuel injector leak-off return circuit on the 200TDi and 300TDi 2.5L turbo diesel engines.

The hollow bolt clamps the injector return (leak-off) pipe union to the injector body; its internal drilling allows surplus fuel to spill from the injector back through the return line to the tank. It is fitted with a sealing washer on each side of the union.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 6mm injector return banjo bolt for?
The 6mm banjo bolt is a hollow bolt that clamps the injector leak-off pipe union to the injector body. Its internal drilling lets surplus fuel spill from the injector back down the return line to the tank on the 200TDi and 300TDi.
Which models and engines does it fit?
It fits the Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic on the fuel injector return circuit of the 200TDi and 300TDi engines. It's the leak-off (return) union bolt, not the high-pressure feed.
How many banjo bolts are needed?
The injector return circuit typically uses one banjo bolt per injector, so a full four-cylinder engine usually needs four. They're sold individually, so order to match the number of injectors you're working on.
Do I need new sealing washers with the banjo bolt?
The banjo bolt seals with a washer on each side of the pipe union. Those sealing washers are typically renewed whenever the union is disturbed, since reusing crushed washers often leads to fuel weeps at the injector.
