Flywheel Bolt securing the flywheel to the rear flange of the crankshaft.

Used on four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, including the 200TDi and 300TDi 2.5L turbo diesel units. The bolt clamps the flywheel against the crankshaft register, transmitting engine torque to the clutch assembly. Tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque on fitting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ERR4574 flywheel bolt used for?
The ERR4574 flywheel bolt secures the flywheel to the rear flange of the crankshaft, clamping it against the crankshaft register so engine torque transfers to the clutch. It fits four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines including the 200TDi and 300TDi.
How many flywheel bolts are needed for the job?
Several flywheel bolts are typically used per flywheel, so check how many your engine takes before ordering, as this code is supplied individually. They're usually tightened in a set pattern to the workshop manual specification on a Defender, Discovery 1 or Series 2/3 four-cylinder engine.
Can the flywheel bolt be reused?
Flywheel bolts are typically treated as single-use because they're highly stressed, so reusing them risks the flywheel working loose. Fit new ERR4574 bolts whenever the flywheel is removed on a 200TDi, 300TDi or Series 2/3 engine, and torque to the workshop manual specification.
